The first place winner of the contest is… (drum roll please)… Dennimator with 10 out of 42 votes.  The second place winner is Guss with 9 votes.  And the third place winner with 8 votes is EB member Eti.  What a fantastic set of sideline scenes!  All of the participants of this contest deserve a big round of applause!

Snow Box Derby 2008: Winners Announced!

At the base of the slope, 16 contestants and their snow boxes pass the finish line.  One favorite EB Admin unfortunately stepped on some thin ice watching from the sidelines.  Luckily, he was quickly pulled out by some of the other fans.

After a very close race with outstanding snow boxes, Eurobricks’ members voted for their favorite snow box entry and their favorite team.  With exclusive Snow Box Derby 2008 coverage, Classic.Town-net is proud to announce the winners of this year’s event:

finals

The first place winner, winning 13 gold medals is EB Champion, Mr. Mandalorian with his entry, Basilisk Snow Droid.  The second place winner, winning 8 silver medals is Sir Nadroj with his creative entry, TheEconomy.  And the third place winner taking 7 bronze medals is Sir Dillon with his snow box, Spike.  While all of these individuals deserve a round of applause, let us not forget those that did not take home a metal today, but gave the Snow Box Derby their all by building fantastic snow boxes.

Viva La France!

Late Breaking News from Classic.Town.net! It appears that one member of the French Team has in fact entered the race at this late hour. Proudly flying the “Tricolor”, the Snow Box is being lifted toward the EB snow hill by Jipay and his crew of scurvy pirates. The sound of the French National Anthem (La Marseillaise) can be heard from the distance as Jipay sees visions of the Arc De Triophe and Tour Eiffel in his head.

It is a proud moment for the French, but will this late start cost them the race?

Final Day for Snow Box Derby Entries!

It’s the final day for participants to enter the Snow Box Derby, and a lot riding on which of the EB Fellows or Staff will take home the Snow Box Derby 2008 trophy.  With less than 24 hours to go, antics on the EB slopes are at an all-time high.

tidbitx450

Participants have been busy waxing their Snow Boxes in anticipation for the final race, while others have completely “gone back to the drawing board”.  Batbrick, member of the Men in Black team has overhawled his BatBox completely, even changing his snow outfit to a spooky Western figure that will no doubt cause fear and panic among the other contestants.  TheBrickster is even considering changing their team name to something more appropriate, like the Nightmare Before Christmas.  Will our judges allow that one day before the final race? and if so, will it be enough to beat the other teams, especially the Snow Mechs and Team America?

There’s been no sign of Hinckley on the slopes despite rumors that he may be joining our favorite Walrus of the Wacky Team.  This will be a great let down for the fans.

Make sure to check out the exciting Christmas coverage of the final race, right here on Classic-Town.net.

Snow Box Derby – Day 8

Eurobricks Citizen Dennimator is on the loose!  It appears that this rogue member has tried to thwart the Snow Box Derby by putting on his black hooded robe and building a destructive Snow Box in “Dr. Doom fashion”.  As his first quest for world domination, he’s even tried to use three other EB members as skiis!  Yes, Dr. D. Dennimator is spreading chaos on the EB Slopes as other contestants veer off into the sidelines.  Just look at Hinckley as he runs over our favorite Walrus, Sinner, in wacky antics.  Will no one try to take Dennimator Down on Snowy Hill?

Meanwhile, another of EB’s rogue members, Majek, successfully stole the plans to ImperialShadows’ “Ye Olde Dirty Oar” Snow Box.  Despite a few pages being wet from the snow, he created a modified sailing Snow Box, the Snow Crusher, and I must say, “It’s Fast”!

Mechanistic Onslaught!

Late Breaking news from Classic-Town.net!  It appears that the Empire has launched their offensive against the Rebellion.  Mr. Mandalorian and LuxorV are attacking TheBrickster’s Snow Steamer as this story appears.  Will TheBrickster’s alliance with the Rebellion save him from this mechanistic onslaught, or will the Empire’s desire to rule the Snowbox Derby prevail?  Stay tuned for more exciting news…

Snow Box Derby – Day 7

With just three days left until the end of EBs’ winter games, our favorite Fellows and Staff desperately attempt to gain popularity along the sidelines.  The American Team (Sir Nadroj and Erdbeereis1) seem to be loosing some favor among the fans, as Mr. Mandalorian’s and TheBrickster’s Snow Boxes have gained momentum.  Just looking along the sidelines, you can find many fans holding up posters of their favorite team.

There’s the Men In Black, Batbrick and TheBrickster, looking sharp pictured with MIB suits:

There’s the “old stars and stripes” with the American team pictured:

Fans are really going crazy along the sidelines as they display these bright-colored posters.

What is this sailing in now?  It appears to be a Pirate Ship?  Folks, here comes ImperialShadows with his entry, “Ye Olde Dirty Oar”.  Many of the male fans can’t seem to keep their eyes off ‘er (and the Snow Box looks pretty good too).  It looks like the Olde Dirty Oar is armed with an old Spanish cannon, which should be a formidable weapon against the onslaught of the Snow Mechs.  This will definately be a close contest with all of these fantastic entries.

Let’s see what other terrific Snow Boxes will be enterd in the last few days of Snow Box Derby 2008!

Not Everyone is Rooting for the American Team!

This is your on the spot, Almost-Live Coverage of the exciting EB winter event, Snow Box Derby 2008.  The crowd has really become large as our EB Derby fans wait for more fantastic entries along the sidelines.  Let’s talk to a few of the fans now, Spaced Out and Lego 12.

Hello fella’s.  What brings you out today?
Like, it’s totally wacked up man! (Definately a Snow Boarder Dude here)
I don’t have anything better to do….just kidding! Its exciting and I can’t wait to see who wins! (That’s more like it!)

Seems the American Team have the favored Snow Boxes this year.  Are you guys rooting for the American Team?
Yes, but no. I live in the US, but me roots for all, and all root for no one. (Does this guy think he’s a musketeer?)
Phhh, no! They are going to LOSE!

Why not?
I’m an american; i want the staff to win… stupid fellows can’t find a way to get out of my city.  (That makes sense?)
I’m rooting for Mr. Mandalorian & LuxorV…..and I also like the Men in Black….. (Did I hear him say the Men In Black?)

There seems to be some issue between TheBrickster and Mr. Mandalorian. Who of these two individuals are you rooting for and Why?
Brickster. His Snow Box is much better stuff… and he’s like a Ghost. (Now this fan knows a winner!)
Don’t know….they’re both sooo cool…..  If I had to choose, probably…..TheBrickster. (Did you hear that Mr. Mandalorian?)

What would you like to say to your favorite Snow Box Fellow or Staff member?
Good luck and may god save you all from death this holiday season as we watch you win… or loose at the hands of your fellow man!
GO Mr. Mandolorian & LuxorV! Kick some @$$ and don’t lose! You do whatever you can to win! Steal Hinckley’s whacker and Sinner’s bucket!  You too Men in Black! Destroy your enemies!  (That narrows it down pretty good.  Who did this guy say he was rooting for?)

Well, you heard it right here.  Seems that not all the fans in the stands are rooting for the American Team.  It’s great to see that Mr. M and TheBrickster have picked up some popularity.  But will it be enough to take down the other fabulous entries?  We’ll find out, right here on Classic.Town.net, your #1 source for exclusive Snow Box Derby 2008 coverage!
