A Paris Morning

Monday, July 12th, 2010

French builder 74louloute creates a lovely MOC depicting a typical scene from his country’s capital, Paris. Kids on their way to school, mom and dad on their way to work. And what better way to travel through busy Paris than by metro. 74louloute has captured the look of a typical metro entrance perfectly. Don’t forget to check out the wonderfully detailed metro station St. Paul, complete with some self-promotion posters, a homeless person, a guitar player, and a graffiti artist.

Going Underground

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Brickshelf user JimB buit this Lego rendition of Vienna’s U-Bahn station Pilgramgasse. The station building captures all the intricate details of the original, such as the decorations around the entrance and the detailing on the walls on both sides of the entrance and on the roof. And that’s just the street level. The actual U-Bahn runs one level lower and stops at one of the two platforms with those characteristic arched ceilings.

Be sure to also check out the subway carriage, with its opening doors and lovely interior, which would easily deserve a blog entry of its own.

Legendary Metroliner

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Eurobricks Fellow and Reviewers Academy teacher, alex54 has kindly shared with us one of the best exclusive train set ever, released back in 1991 and was featured once again in 2001, as part of the highly acclaimed LEGEND series.

The re-released 10001 LEGEND Metroliner uses 9V Electric system with a total of 3 carriages with amazing detailed interior, plus an incredible 11 Classic Town minifigs added into your collection. The train carriage can be expanded with this re-released 10002 LEGEND Railroad Club Car. No doubt about it, the Metroliner is indeed one of the nicest train sets ever released by TLG.

Danish Metro Train

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Lego train fan Esbenkolind builds a wonderful Danish Metro Train.  The combination of SNOT construction with red, grey, and black color palette makes this an outstanding city metro.  I especially like the front end with visible Classic Town driver.
