A Visit to Nikko

TheBrickster, here we are. We have finally reached Nikko Shrine safely. Take a look at the lush green environment which simply takes your breath away from the calm soothing environment. The building is as majestic as the pagoda, filled with rich scarlet oriental paint with traditional roof tiles made more than hundred years ago. Nikko Shrine was built by the respectable shrine builder known as Triathletus in Japan and built this in the Nikko region.

This is the very place, where the villagers climb up the high mountains to the top of the cliff daily, to pray to their God or commonly known to them as Kami. Kami’s existence takes in many forms such as sun, mountains and rivers. For many hundred of years, the Shinto beliefs are still very strong in these villagers. In this present moment, this famous architecture are protected by the government and declared as National Treasure.
