With the launch of a new series of Collectible Minifigures, you can be certain of at least two things. Eurobricks hosts a building contest and EB member and Ambassador Cecilie builds a series of wonderfully detailed vignettes.
Visit the Eurobricks Special Themes forum to find out how to enter the building contest and stand a chance to win a selection of Series 5 Collectible Minifigures and to view all 16 of Cecilie’s vignettes and leave your comments to her.
Long time no vig. Although this one isn’t exactly a vignette per se. Which doesn’t make it any less adorable.
>Saint< on flickr sends this here minifig on a journey to where saints’ stamping grounds are supposed to be.
And since we’re on the subject of dirigibles anyway – here’s another flying beaut by j¤nesy.
Heaven, I’m in heaven… And there’s stuff around me that goes *putt putt putt*…
MOCs inspired by works of literature often tend to become equally impressive masterpieces, especially since their creators put so much feeling in the build. This is definitely the case with these two – first, Xenomurphy pays homage to what seems to be one of his favourite authors with a very moody and grim vignette.
And to preserve the sense of excitement, off we plunge in the heart of Africa, surrounded by the Congo wilderness – as depicted by Ciamosław Ciamek.
Books coming to life – in plastic. Isn’t that simply brilliant?
Our new Eurobricks History Regulator, I Scream Clone has done a marvellous vignette to showcase the entire LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 2 in this Life’s a beach creation. It’s really amazing having to see so many interesting expressions among these unique minifigures. Among the many fine details, I love the blue waves very much as the surfer approaches it.
One of my personal favorites from series 1 of the Collectible Minifigs is undoubtedly the clown. And in the Minifigs contest it has so far stimulated two of my favorite entries. Redcross has created a detailed dressing room for our red-haired friend, complete with unicycle and a big red nose.
Meanwhile, little Joey has his worst birthday party ever, because his mom has invited a clown to his party. Fuguzi depicts this story in a detailed four floors high vignette.

The Skater Figure earns some much needed extra points by getting an ollie over the magic bum! With Eurobricks member GIR3691′s entry for the Collectable Minifigure Vignette Contest.

Damn Kids!
There are four days left to enter. So read the rules, get building and post your vig!
“Bigs?”, you ask? Not 8 x 8 stud vignettes, but 16 x 16 studs scenes. Fresh Eurobricks staff member and Classic-Town.net blogger Peppermint_M has created a series of 16 bigs to celebrate the release of series 1 of the Collectible Minifigures. Quite a few of them are Town-related. Check out the index of all bigs in the Eurobricks Town forum.
While we’re on the topic of Collectible Minifigs, Eurobricks’ and Classic-Town.net’s Collectible Minifigs Series 1 Contest ends in a few days. Get those entries in!
The Eurobricks/Classic-Town.net Collectible Minifigs Series 1 contest is well under way. Two female Eurobricks Fellows have used the Forestman as inspiration for their vignettes. Sandy depicts the opening night of ‘Robin Hood’ in the LEGO Town Theater. Using some clever SNOT techniques for the curtains, she is able to fit Little John on stage and still leave room for the Forestman minifig, as well as have three spectators watching the play.
Cutlass Iz presents the local psychiatrist’s office where we see the shrink, who looks surprisingly similar to a famous movie actor himself, talking to a poor lonesome cowboy who thinks he’s Toy Story’s Woody. Meanwhile, his trusty assistant is welcoming the next patient, who has visions of being… right, Robin Hood.
Enjoy all the entries so far in the Eurobricks Town forum. Have an idea for an entry yourself? Read the rules, and get building!
