Vote for your favourite Series 4 minifigure in Eurobricks

I am very sure all of us were caught in the exciting whirlwind of the recent craze of the Collectable Minifigure Series 4. It appears the current Series 4 appeals widely to everyone of us and none of the 16 minifigures are cast aside.

Bricktober 2010 – Week #4

Sunday, October 24, starts Week 4 of Bricktober with the exclusive Black Falcon minifigure.  This minifigure is one of my personal favorites as the Black Falcons were certainly a vintage Classic Castle faction.  I would guess that this may be a “fan favorite” for retro minifig collectors.  In addition to the retro minifig, TRU is also offering 25% off selected Star Wars sets.  This concludes Bricktober 2010 coverage.  Hope you were able to “snag a few”!

Bricktober 2010 – Week #3

Classic Town fans will especially appreciate Week 3 of Bricktober 2010.  Right out of 1981 bearing the striking black and yellow-buttoned jacket, the Fire Chief is certainly a vintage  minifig.  Toys R Us (TRU)  is also offering a buy one, get 50% off a second set on most LEGO.  This certainly helps to alleviate some of the extra mark-up on most TRU LEGO.

Bricktober 2010 – Week #2

Week #2 of Bricktober has officially began at Toys R Us (TRU) stores in the U.S.!  This week, TRU is offering my personal favorite of the retro collection of minifigures, this one being the Cavalry Colonel from the 1996 LEGO Wild West theme.  In addition to the exclusive magnet minifig, TRU is also giving away Trick-Or-Treat bags, called LEGO Halloween Buckets for LEGO purchases $20 or more.  The plastic “buckets” come in three different colors; black, yellow, and orange.  Michael Huffman, Mhuffman on FlickR, shares an image of the Halloween bags if you are interested.

Happy Halloween Hunting until next week!

Halloween Advent by Morgan190

For those familiar with Morgan190′s outstanding custom minifigures, he is certainly outdoing himself this October with a delightfully dreadful collection of ghostly haunts.  As part of a countdown to Halloween, Morgan is creating a minifig each day for a custom Halloween Advent Calendar.  To add to the already high quality of his creations and photo editing, he gives each minifig a most unique name as well as a haunting quote befitting of the creation.  You’d be surprised to read some of the inspirations for his minifigures as he continues his chilling countdown.

Interestingly, Morgan does not limit his minifigure parts to just LEGO, utilizing household items like a button, thimble, and threading needle in minifigs like Lipoon’ishka, the Tommelisian Vagabond (October 5).  If you haven’t already seen his frightful collection thus far, make sure you venture into Morgan’s FlickR photostream for a hauntingly good time.  We can only imagine what Morgan will dream up next as he brings life and character to his Halloween minifigure collection.

Bricktober 2010

October really is a great month!  Aside from Halloween, this is the second year that Toys R Us (TRU) is celebrating the fall season with Bricktober.  During a routine visit to my local TRU, I was pleasantly surprised to find the store offering an exclusive Retro Minifigure Magnet with LEGO purchases over $20.  Similar to last year with the exclusive Duplo bricks, each week of October (starting Sunday), TRU will have a different minifigure.  In case you’re curious, the figures include:

  • Week 1 (October 3-9): Imperial Soldier (1989)
  • Week 2 (October 10-16): Wild West Officer (1996)
  • Week 3 (October 17-23): Classic Town Fireman (1981)
  • Week 4 (October 24-31): Black Falcon Knight (1984)

As of October 3, in addition to the exclusive minifigure magnets, most sets are 10% off, some older Town sets 30% off, and an additional 25% off clearance sets.  Make sure you stop bye to take advantage of the free minifigure (with purchases over $20) and the special event sales.  Classic Town will be sharing an update on the sales all month, as well as pictures of each of the exclusive minifigure magnets as they become available each week.  Good luck finding them at a store near you!

Eurobricks member the inventor has posted a most topical MOC. Netherlands vs Spain in the World Cup final. Is the octopus right? Will Spain lift the cup or will the Netherlands prevail?

I love the action posing of all the figures and the simple details making an eye catching vig. The use of a flagpole as a vuvuzela is simple but effective.

The Winners of the Collectible LEGO Minifigs Series 1 Town Contest

The Eurobricks/Classic-Town.net Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 1 Town Building Contest has come to an end. I am proud to announce the lucky winners for this contest. Redcross and Fugazi created the Clown Dressing Room and Birthday Party to accommodate the Clown and their entries were indeed imaginative. As for Noodles140, his simplicity captures the right emotions for our daring Skater Boy. It’s not an easy feat for these winners to achieve victory.

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to all of you and to our participants whom have put in so much time and effort for this contest, I really appreciate it and I hope you will come back once more in the next sequel.
