Mercedes Actros Car Transporter

Eurobricks members Lasse D and Ricecracker decided, a year ago, to collaborate and build matching MOCs of a Mercedes Actros Car Transporter. Here are the results:

Blue MAN Group

Model Team master MOCcer Lasse Deleuran has always liked to create both sweet 1:25 trucks and smaller editions of those. This time though he’s gone one step further with minifying his vehicles – all the way down to minifig scale.

A couple of weeks ago he showcased this great MAN TGS 8×4 cement truck with built-in Power Functions used – yes, you guessed it – to make the drum do the wobble (among other things).

Rotate that funky drum boy!

Rotate that funky drum boy!

Now he’s gone ahead and shrunk the blue truck so that it can help with minifig-scale construction as well. No Power Functions this time – but Lasse claims it’s still capable of throwing around GBC balls as its big brother did. And let’s be frank here, if your cement truck can dispense balls, why would you ever need to ask for more?

Drum is shrunk, but still funky.

Lasse has been pretty busy lately, also building a 6-wide Octan truck and providing his 2008 Coca Cola truck with a minified edition. He is still one man short of forming his very own Blue Man Group though, so I’d suggest a microscale cement truck next…

Truck on Truck Action

Almost everything that comes from the hands of Bricksonwheels Customs is awe-inspiring, but this time I’m bringing to your attention a match made in heaven. Truckers’ heaven, that is.

There's been some serious top-chopping going on there!

There's been some serious top-chopping going on there.

It takes a lot of will power to make yourself believe that all of this is actually LEGO. And then you’re sincerely disappointed – since let’s be honest, when’s the next time you’ll see a cabrio Peterbilt on the back of a fully fitted Scania?

The Galaxie Far, Far Away

You know what I just realized? It’s been way too long since I last blogged proper American muscle… In all seriousness though, I have missed highlighting these beautiful MOCs which showcase the kind of art that used to roll out of Denver some 50 years ago. So there, a little… no, a big something to cheer you (and me) up.

Edgy. Rough. Chrome-a-licious.

Edgy. Rough. Chrome-a-licious.

You wouldn’t expect this one to come without a sweet flame paintjob and chrome rims, would you? Now go check out the other niceties that Legogil has supplied this baby with.

More Green… And More Trucks.

I am a huge fan of green, I admit. And like most guys out there, I definitely enjoy trucks. So obviously, the combination of those two instantly rings the blogger bell in my head – especially when there’s double of both. These two heavyweight monsters made the rounds about a week ago, just after our last truck blogging frenzy – which definitely called for a slight break, otherwise we might as well have rebranded to Classic-Trucks.net. Now, however, I’m sure that all truck fanatics out there are hungry for more – so here they come.

First is Maciej Drwiega with his V8-powered Peterbilt 359 logging truck straight out of the forests of Twin Peaks:

Damn good coff... truck!

Damn good coff... truck!

And if you’d rather have some heavy industry machinery, this should definitely grab your attention – it’s a civilian Consolidated Faran built by Aleksandar Stein, who’s obviously quite a truck fan himself.

Got muscle?

Got muscle?

I am not really sure which one of both has a tougher job to do, but I’m positive that these are by far the strongest-looking green MOCs I’ve ever seen.

Venomous Beauty

Brickshelf and Flickr user Ricardo Prates (a.k.a. Biczzz) has been building cars for quite some time now. His latest achievement however is yet another proof that LEGO elements can be used to recreate all kinds of curvy forms. Here is the result:

blahjghghghahh

Tons of NPU here has ensured a very warm reception for this beauty

This Portuguese MOCcer must be really proud of his work. The Shelby Cobra is a gorgeous vehicle and it’s definitely worth owning one of these babies – even if it’s only built out of bricks.

King of Rotation

This model by Marek Markiewicz (m_longer) may scream “Model Team”, but in fact it’s so much better than that. Fortunately, it comes right in time to defend the honour of Kenworth after an equally intricate Peterbilt had recently hit the headlines.

"Paul, I think I told you - I'm a Rotator, not a Mover..."

Marek’s W900 is not just easy on the eyes. It’s also efficient and effective as hell – check out the video, it speaks louder than words.

Hard Truck Contest 2010

SteelGhost, a regular participator at the annual contest of the Russian LUG, DoubleBrick, has completed work on his new truck. After taking part in the Hard Truck Contest in 2009 with his American LaFrance, he’s scaled down things a bit this time around and built a heavy-duty GMC B-model.

His new model looks leaner and faster, but it also makes me wonder what would happen to his old trusted LaFrance when the time comes to race these babies once again…

Hot (& Shiny) Wheels

Trust me, you’d be hard-pressed to find more hot wheels in one MOC. Dutch expert bricksonwheels has started 2010 in style – by building this beautiful 1:17 replica of a heavily-chromed Peterbilt 359 car carrier which even has its corresponding trailer attached to it… and a couple of hot cars, in case you don’t believe it’s meant to do a job rather than be stared at.

What's your pick - the cars or the truck?

What's your pick - the cars or the truck?

Stare and drool, however, is all I can do. And it’s quite understandable, seeing as this heavyweight beauty features detailed work on its engine, body and interior… And I think it’s safe to say that its raw beauty does definitely overshadow the Italian charm of the Ferrari and Lambo it’s carrying (and we’re not even talking about torque or horsepower here).

Model Team Meets Classic Town

Apparently, there are ladies who not only fancy motorbikes, but are also capable of building them from LEGO in model team scale with unbelievable accuracy. Sorry guys, Brixie63 says she’s taken though. That, however, doesn’t change the quality of her models – some of which are absolutely amazing. Like this awesome chopper, for example.

A true Harley with chrome forks and even a toolbox is a rare sight in this scale.

A true Harley with chrome forks and even a toolbox... (cue jaw drop)

Recently, Brixie63 has been building a bunch of instantly recognisable classic vehicles in minifig scale, most of which are separately more than blogworthy, such as this Fiat 500:

As classic as it gets!

Now that‘s a lady who knows her wheels!
