Mercedes Actros Car Transporter

Eurobricks members Lasse D and Ricecracker decided, a year ago, to collaborate and build matching MOCs of a Mercedes Actros Car Transporter. Here are the results:

Lasse D builds in Model Team scale:

And Ricecracker builds in minifig scale:

A New Challenger Appears

And it goes straight for the heavyweight champion belt. Scott Wardlaw finishes off the hibernation season in style with a wonderful 4-6-6-4 steam loc complete with a couple of UP cars.

Bound to Omaha?

Bound to Omaha?

I could fill a few paragraphs waxing lyrical about this one and it still wouldn’t be enough. Instead, I’ll sign off with a “fun fact” – it is precisely the UP 3985 which is the last one standing of its kind, and coincidentally it’s also the biggest steam engine still in operation today. This LEGO model of it has won the Best Train award at BrickWorld 2010. A worthy MOC for a most worthy train then, I’d say.

PennLUG Steams Ahead

Tons of straight track pieces, elaborate loops and a truckload of 9V or PF motors… Who needs those if you can build such displays and have just as much fun?

Gorgeous smoke effect there.

I’m sure most of you are aware of Cale Leiphart‘s prowess when it comes to steam train building. This MOC makes it pretty obvious that such skills are even capable of making small(ish) static scenes come to life in style.

Monster Machine

What do you do when you can’t use a tower crane, but need to lift that super heavy load? Why, you call in the Liebherr LG 1750 by M_longer, of course! This eight axle behemoth is really a set of outriggers on wheels – the crane is assembled on site.

All eight axles have pendular suspension, and six of them have steering.

Once put together, the crane is massive, at almost 2 metres tall! Fully functional, it has three motors. One for the winch, and two for the booms. There’s even a video showcasing the functions.

That's a feller-buncher it's lifting!

Across the Galaxie

Is there any sight more sweet than a red convertible?

Is there any sight more sweet than a red convertible?

MOCpages user and car fan Anthony Dunne has created a stylish 1967 Ford Galaxie. As I may have mentioned earlier, I love cars and I love classic cars even more. This is a great MOC, with a blocky build that still conveys the lines of the real deal. Check out the MOCpage for more angles, or head over to Anthony’s homepage for more sweet rides!

Off-roader

Piotr Ślęzak (pitrek02 on flickr) built this minifig-scale, 7 studs wide, off-road pick-up truck. And this is one of those cases where I’m impressed to see that someone has combined looks and functionality in a single model on a relatively small scale. Because not only does this model feature a fully functional suspension, it can also winch itself out should it ever get stuck off-roading.

Be sure to check out the accompanying video in which Piotr demonstrates all the functionality he built into his little yellow monster and leave your feedback in the Eurobricks Town forum.

Oldtimer

Commonly defined as a car built between the start of 1919 and the end of 1930, an Oldtimer is, at it’s very heart, a classic. Marin Stipković Motors presents it’s new classic in black and white with touches of gray to add to the realism.

Prowling the streets

Prowling the streets

It may be a little larger than what is commonly considered town scale, but look how much style your minifigs could ride in. Would you deny them such luxury?

Why not cruise in to Eurobricks or MOCPages, take a closer look, and then give Marin some praise for this beautifully styled Oldtimer?

It’s Big and Red…

… it’s ImLost‘s American fire truck! At 8 studs wide, this truck will surely look imposing coming down the streets of your town. Besides looking most realistic for North-American firetrucks, this scale has the added benefit of giving the firefighters plenty of leg room inside. ImLost has used a few of the new hydraulic pistons on both the turntable for the ladder and the outriggers. Packed full of equipment, this truck is ready for any firefighting job.

Going Green

Marin Stipkovic goes green with his latest truck MOCs. His 8-wide airport crash truck is built in a wonderful lime green, a color that has become quite popular due to LEGO’s Power Miners line. It features some nice SNOT work on the front and around the roller doors.

Lime, lime, lovely lime...

Next up, is this green recycle truck, which Marin based on the chassis of his own dump truck.

As a bonus, check out this recycle tricycle that Marin built a while ago, but wasn’t featured on our little blog yet. But don’t forget to check out all of Marin’s vehicle MOCs on MOCpages.
