Dfenz builds an amazing Train Station and shares it with us on Eurobricks:
Some large MOCs hold back on the detail, but not this one. This is a huge SHIP (Seriously Huge Investment in Parts) and must be quite the labor of love for Dfenz. It was displayed at Dun Laoghaire (Dublin) model railway exhibition and you can see more pictures and join the discussion in this topic on Eurobricks.
Tons of straight track pieces, elaborate loops and a truckload of 9V or PF motors… Who needs those if you can build such displays and have just as much fun?
I’m sure most of you are aware of Cale Leiphart‘s prowess when it comes to steam train building. This MOC makes it pretty obvious that such skills are even capable of making small(ish) static scenes come to life in style.
Fellow blogger Dave, one half of the team that makes up ToT-LUG along with his lovely wife and LEGO Ambassador Stacy, spent the weekend at the 2010 La Crosse Model Railroad Show.
Also in attendance were GMLTC and B&J Railroad. Oh, and the local news channel who decided to do a story on the show and interview Dave as you can see above. Pretty impressive, eh? Head over to Eurobricks to catch a link to the video and then say a few words to Dave about his awesome weekend, ok?
The display will be held at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon on 3rd and 4th October 2009. This year, the display will be bigger than ever, with even more activities for all the family to enjoy and participate in. All models on display are built by Brickish Association members, making it the largest display of LEGO fan models in the UK.
More information can be obtained here.
LEGO train shows and displays are always “bigger than life”, especially this recent summer show at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary. Constructed by the Southern Alberta LEGO Users Group (SALUG), this spectacular display depicts scenes from the Canadian Pacific Railway. Brickshelf member Legomanbert shares images of the impressive display that includes a number of fantastic LEGO built details including a large bridge, steam boat, and train station; to name just a few. If you’re a train fan, make sure you check out some of the images of this spectacular layout.
What’s a Bodville you ask? Bodville is a personal web site of Eurobricks train fan Pe668. His web site offers a number of fantastic train displays from past to present, as well as some very complex and detailed Lego Train layouts. Pe668 has created custom trains and trackside structures including a bridge, station, and switching tower (to name just a few). It’s very relaxing and enjoyable to watch his trains pass through a number of layouts as he shares a few videos of his trains in action. Check out Bodville today.
Held in Montreal Canada, August 15-16, 2009, this terrific Train Yard was one of the numerous highlights of the outstanding train display. I wonder how many trains engines can fit within this huge train engine shed? What a great layout! – images from Brickshelf member Pbegin.
Eurobricks member and Ambassador CopMike has minimized the Emerald Night into monorail form:
This excellent little MOC/MOD was a highlight of the Fabuland Train Club display at this year’s BrickWorld. Check out CopMike’s thread on Eurobricks about his monorail madness!
PS-Now let’s just hope he starts a thread to talk about his cool train platform from the same display:
Lego train fan DecoJim shares some awesome pictures of the Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club Train Show in Saline, Michigan. The event was held February 15, 2009, and included this 17 1/2 x 20 foot display.
