It seems as though everyone is building hot rods recently, and a number of them are amazing! After de-marco’s diorama last month, I thought I’d be hard-pressed to find another one this quickly. Well, the El Diablo by -zenn is truly stunning. Check out the use of track links as running boards and other details such as the excellently built skull on the front.
-zenn says he built it for the 40th monthly LUGNuts challenge. Let him know what you think in his Eurobricks topic!
Hold your breath and cover your face because there will be a sandstorm coming your way! Watch out for the fast rumbling hot rods in this one of a kind race in this hot desert. Thanks to Eurobricks member, de-marco for sharing his latest creations with us.
I know it has been a long while since any of us have done some decent blogging over at Classic-Town.net but we promise to bring our readers some new excitement next year. So stay tune for more updates.
For now, let me share with you this legendary racing car known as the Alfa Romeo Tipo 159 which is done by Brickshelf member, mijasper.
Under his detailed Brickshelf description, he mentioned that this speedster took the great Juan Manuel Fangio to his first Formula One World Championship in 1951. That is very most impressive. Do view his Brickshelf folder for more images.
If I had never read Eurobricks Reviewers Academy Teacher, ZO6 latest 6616 Rocket Dragster review, I will not know about this set. This Rocket Dragster is part of the “Race” theme which was released back in 2000. Lots of racing actions can be found in this decade old set.
Larry Lars builds this yellow Dakar Rally Jeep. I didn’t verify it, but I think the studs on the Lego elements are facing in all directions (including studs down) in this creation. Make sure you don’t miss the clever attachment of the steering wheel and the simple, yet very effective construction of that little jerrycan the driver is holding.
Inspired by the hit Nintendo game of the same name, Eurobricks member rupi presents this take on the standard kart as well as a familiar looking driver who sports the perfect moustache for the job.
Why not race on over to Eurobricks to comment on this lovely little kart and maybe try to talk rupi into making the whole assortment?
Sporting Bavarian colors, MrTruck shares images of his speedy 1920 Racecar. The color combination works very well for this little racer. It would be nice to see it side-by-side in a race with something red, perhaps even a minifig-scale Tijuana Taxi.
According to our Flickr friend nolnet…indeed they can. He brings us this cute little Fiat 500 Abarth SS complete with a brick-built windscreen. There’s a lot to look at here here, but I am particularly in love of the the overall styling and how he has managed to capture the aggressive nature of the car while still evoking the ‘aww…cute’ response. If we want to talk technical, the methodology behind getting the front and rear windscreens to sit angled and still blend is brilliant.
For those that aren’t familiar with the Fiat 500 Abarth SS, it is Fiat’s aim at a sportier and actually downright aggressive version of the pedestrian Fiat 500. The 500 Abarth SS sports a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 160 HP and 170 Lb-Ft of torque. This is a lot of power for a 2,282-pound FWD car. Expect 0-62 MPH in 7.4 seconds, continuing to a top speed of 131 MPH with MPG’s in the mid 30′s.
Eurobricks member, paanjang16 has done a small Classic Town set review which was released back in 1988. The 6503 Sprint Racer represents SHELL Racing Team. This small race car fits in many nice details especially printed SHELL tiles and the distinct number 1 representation at the front of the car slope.
