Henrik Hoexbroe has created a lovely diorama of a French town – Royville – in the 1960s. It features – among others – an art-deco style petrol station, a Citroën car dealer, a hotel, and a train station. It’s very much ‘alive’ because of the many little scenes and Henrik’s brilliant car MOCs.

It seems as though everyone is building hot rods recently, and a number of them are amazing! After de-marco’s diorama last month, I thought I’d be hard-pressed to find another one this quickly. Well, the El Diablo by -zenn is truly stunning. Check out the use of track links as running boards and other details such as the excellently built skull on the front.
-zenn says he built it for the 40th monthly LUGNuts challenge. Let him know what you think in his Eurobricks topic!
Hold your breath and cover your face because there will be a sandstorm coming your way! Watch out for the fast rumbling hot rods in this one of a kind race in this hot desert. Thanks to Eurobricks member, de-marco for sharing his latest creations with us.
You know what I just realized? It’s been way too long since I last blogged proper American muscle… In all seriousness though, I have missed highlighting these beautiful MOCs which showcase the kind of art that used to roll out of Denver some 50 years ago. So there, a little… no, a big something to cheer you (and me) up.
You wouldn’t expect this one to come without a sweet flame paintjob and chrome rims, would you? Now go check out the other niceties that Legogil has supplied this baby with.
The Brickbaron creates another outstanding miniland-scale creation, this one his LEGO version of a Tijuana Taxi. This hotrod is ready to burn some Tijuana treads with three western gunmen and one hot & spicy automobile. What a nice design inspired by Tom Daniel.
Misterzumbi creates another fantastic set of wheels with his Lego version of a 1959 Chevy Bel Aire. His highly detailed 6-stud wide vehicle certainly makes a prized automobile for hot rod enthusiasts.
According to our Flickr friend nolnet…indeed they can. He brings us this cute little Fiat 500 Abarth SS complete with a brick-built windscreen. There’s a lot to look at here here, but I am particularly in love of the the overall styling and how he has managed to capture the aggressive nature of the car while still evoking the ‘aww…cute’ response. If we want to talk technical, the methodology behind getting the front and rear windscreens to sit angled and still blend is brilliant.
For those that aren’t familiar with the Fiat 500 Abarth SS, it is Fiat’s aim at a sportier and actually downright aggressive version of the pedestrian Fiat 500. The 500 Abarth SS sports a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 160 HP and 170 Lb-Ft of torque. This is a lot of power for a 2,282-pound FWD car. Expect 0-62 MPH in 7.4 seconds, continuing to a top speed of 131 MPH with MPG’s in the mid 30′s.
Flickr poster ‘taltosvt’ brings us this excellent 1929 Ford ‘Stakebed’ pickup. It’s based off of a picture he found on a historical society site and the color scheme really jumped out and grabbed me. He did a great job capturing the shape and scale of the truck and I could see this fitting in on any town layout. In fact, I may be ‘borrowing’ his design for my layout.
If you have some time, check out the rest of ‘taltosvt’s’ Flickr photostream as he has some great Train MOC’s on there as well! I know I’ll be looking forward to seeing more great things from him in the future.
Brickshelf member rupi has modified the set 10200 Custom Car Garage:
By adding four walls, a roof and and office, rupi sets the original set in a Cafe Corner style street and improves the overall aesthetic in order for the set to fit in with a LEGO® town layout. With great details like a steel garage door facade and a brilliant modification of Impulse set 8398 BBQ Stand, rupi’s mod is a brilliant improvement over an already excellent set.
